I recently helped beta test a new game called La Croix Pan about a WWII sniper who is the last member of his squad alive and has to secure a town long enough for reinforcements to arrive. It’s got some fun traditional and not-so-traditional adventure gameplay. It’s short but sweet and shows a lot of polish.
It’s a good demonstration of what aspiring game makers should aim for when making their first game. Don’t go for epic, like this Resonance rubbish that I’m trying!
For fifteen minutes of fun, try out La Croix Pan.
I was right there for the fun, right up to that last puzzle where I had to go over and over and over the same scene until I finally gave up…and realized there’s no way to exit the game. The designer lost me there, I couldn’t find any intuitive way around it. The rest was brilliant, caught me right up in the mood.

You’ll be able to speed up the process using quick saves, though. Right when you arrive at the bottom of the ladder, press F5 to quicksave. Then you can F7 to quickload right back there.
Also, to quit, use Ctrl-Q. The keyboard controls are all in the .txt file if you forget them! Glad you enjoyed the first part at least! Thanks for reading, playing, and commenting!
